If you’d like to feel the old distressing, our polyurethane finish [no epoxy/clearcoat filling] may be the best option. With the old distressing not being filled; the table top will be more difficult to clean. For a rustic cottage in particular it may fit the decor better. The colour of our furniture comes from the age of the wood. The older wood gets, the darker it gets. Since the raw material we use is 150+ years old, it comes to us with a lot of darkness/patina already present. The clear epoxy + polyurethane finish pulls out the darkness.
