The reclaimed wood tables we build are made primarily from Southwestern Ontario Barns, which is where many of our customers are. We maintain the Pioneer heritage in the wood.

Hand-Made Heavy Duty Reclaimed Wood Trestle Tables

In order to maintain as much of the authentic barnwood distressing, we custom build everything by hand. Here’s some pics from production of our reclaimed wood trestle tables at the unfinished stage:

Modern Reclaimed Wood Table made from Reclaimed Hemlock Ontario Barnwood

Our plank base option is our simplest, completely straight-lines option; with pioneer barnwood distressing kept. See pics below of a project we did in this option:

Reclaimed Wood Harvest Table for Ontario Cottage with Satin Polyurethane Finish [No Epoxy]

If you’d like to feel the old distressing, our polyurethane finish [no epoxy/clearcoat filling] may be the best option. With the old distressing not being filled; the table top will be more difficult to clean. For a rustic cottage in particular it may fit the decor better. For harvest tables, it’s best to go foot shorter to fit between the table legs [4″ inset for windbrace beam legs; 2″ leg inset] .

Rustic Table made from Ontario Barnwood with Epoxy Finish & Extensions

The colour of our furniture comes from the age of the wood. The older wood gets, the darker it gets. Since the raw material we use is 150+ years old, it comes to us with a lot of darkness/patina already present. The clear epoxy + polyurethane finish pulls out the darkness. Old barn wood / boards have tons of authentic character. This is a result of years of aging and pioneer work done on them.

Reclaimed Wood Pedestal Table with Medium Thickness [Clearcoat] Epoxy Option

We keep nearly all the original distressing in the old Ontario wood we use; which means tops are pretty rough at the unfinished stage. Most of our customers opt for our regular clearcoat epoxy; which will still follow the wood. To feel the character more, although less practical; consider our medium thickness epoxy option.
