Custom Reclaimed Barnwood Harvest Table for a Mississauga, Ontario Home
Old Growth Pine is a lot different than new pine. In original natural Ontario forests the trees would grow taller rather than wider [although wider as well] so the grain was tight. New pine is commercially grown so the trees are spaced further apart [allowing for more sunlight] so the trees grows a lot quicker. Since very few will wait 100 years to harvest their bush these days there won’t be wood like this ever again, especially combined with the pioneer distressing. This Mississauga customer opted for old growth pine for their reclaimed wood harvest table project:
