To feel more of the original distressing, consider our light epoxy coating option. In this case we don’t fill the cavities/distressing. Though a bit less practical; the character of the wood is really pronounced. The “bad” lighting in these photos we took of this reclaimed wood cottage table with trestle base show the rougher finish:
