For a consistently dark colour with no redder tones, our new black stain treatment may be a good option. This hutch customer opted for this. Another unique element on this project was the sqaure, heavy duty crown molding. We typically use a 45 degree angle crown; but in this case the client wanted a straight lines, modern design. Our reclaimed wood hutches are built using old Ontario barnwood. For hutches we use the interior grainery room boards. We keep nearly all the original distressing, but make practical with a thick polyurethane clearcoat finish. Continue reading
A reclaimed wood hutch is a great way to add lots of storage capacity. Our custom hutches can be made of any combination of drawers, doors & shelves. For these we primarily use interior 1′ boards from the barn [grainery board] Our design is very straight lines; and we don’t stain [only natural wood] so these will fit in virtually any style of space.
