Given the durability/waterproof nature of the epoxy + polyurethane finish, we offer reclaimed wood tables for commercial applications. For this project, we build a custom reclaimed wood cafeteria table for a Port Hope community centre. See pics below!

Some of our customers really want to feel the authentic pioneer distressing in our reclaimed wood table tops. Since epoxy provides a more smooth feel; they’ll typically opt to go with no epoxy filling. While there is a trade-off in terms of practicality [cleaning, durability], this may be worth the cost. All our tables can extend up to 18″ at either end. For this recent reclaimed wood trestle table project, we extended a 7 ft to 10 ft. Given the amount of distressing we maintain, centre leaves would not be practical; therefore we only offer them at the ends. See pics below:

The primary raw material we use is old growth Hemlock and Pine barnwood from pioneer barns found throughout Ontario. We don’t stain [just clearcoat] given our unique clearcoat finish. The main difference between Hemlock and Pine is Pine will be a lot redder. Check out this recent reclaimed wood harvest table project we made for a Maple, Ontario home:
