Our barnboard grey option brings the colour of the exterior of old pioneer barns into the floor boards. This is one of the few options where we add the colour in. Old barn floor boards [threshing floor] aren’t as exposed as the exterior boards so don’t have the same colour. If you’d like to feel the old distressing, our polyurethane finish [no epoxy/clearcoat filling] may be the best option. With the old distressing not being filled; the table top will be more difficult to clean. For a rustic cottage in particular it may fit the decor better. We keep nearly all the original distressing in the old Ontario we use; which means tops are pretty rough at the unfinished stage. Most of our customers opt for our regular clearcoat epoxy; which will still follow the wood. To feel the character more, although less practical; consider our medium thickness epoxy option.
