Our epoxy finish fills in all the deep, authentic barnwood distressing. Epoxy is very glossy. To bring down the shine, we topcoat with a thick polyurethane finish. The colour of our custom harvest tables comes from the age of the wood. The more we sand, the lighter the wood gets [as we get through the old wood patina]. For the reclaimed wood table project, we did a heavier sand to bring out the lighter tones. Continue reading →

The colour of our furniture comes from the age of the wood. The older wood gets, the darker it gets. Since the raw material we use is 150+ years old, it comes to us with a lot of darkness/patina already present. The clear epoxy + polyurethane finish pulls out the darkness.
