Our reclaimed wood harvest tables are custom built to any size/style/finish. The finish is this case was a thick polyurethane finish, with no filling of the old distressing with epoxy. This works in some cases where the customer is okay with the top being substantially rough. The benefit is you can actually feel the barnwood distressing; but of course there’s a tradeoff when it comes to cleaning/smoothness. The colour of our custom harvest tables comes from the age of the wood. The more we sand, the lighter the wood gets [as we get through the old wood patina]. For the reclaimed wood table project, we did a heavier sand to bring out the lighter tones. Continue reading
